Verona Kitchen & Bar Re-Brand

Verona Kitchen & Bar is a local Italian inspired restaurant in Newton-Le-Willows, Warrington. A family run business, serving wood-fired pizzas and pasta located on a bustling high street, the restaurant first opened its door in 2017. Always looking for ways to improve, the owners decided to rebrand the business, looking at new menus, new interiors and most importantly, new signage.
We all know that signage is a powerful marketing tool and its often the first thing that our customers see. Our brief of ensuring that our design needed to be creative and impactful to stand out from the crowd and leave that long lasting impression to encourage repeat business, was made more important due to the restaurant being located on a busy high street.
We faced additional challenges; the restaurant is located in a conservation area with tight planning restrictions. We had to work within fixed guidelines to satisfy the customer, the local residents and the local planning committee.

After much deliberation between the local authority, Verona and ourselves at iBrand Signs in Warrington, we came up with a bespoke, custom made sign.
We started our journey using reclaimed scaffold boards; carefully sanding and treating with wood varnish. These boards bring character and a rustic, natural look which all complimented the guidelines from the planning authority.
We then produced the built up individual Corten Steel Letters with LED halo illumination. Corten Steel is a weathering steel which is left untreated and unprotected to rust for a completely natural look.

This was a fascinating process of allowing these letters to gradually weather and rust outside resulting in a striking, on trend finish.
The whole team at iBrand Signs loved working on this project from start to finish and it has been a complete triumph. Not only did we comply with tight restrictions, we also successfully designed and manufactured a sign that is both traditional and modern and completely unique and most importantly stands out from the crowd.
